Kendrick Lamar Affiliates Lil L & JohnBoyKool Rep Their Side on "Westside of the Bridge"
A sinister new Compton anthem.
For those unfamiliar, Compton rappers Lil L and JohnBoyKool have been staples of their local scenes for years now. Linking up for a new collaborative effort, the two Kendrick Lamar affiliates make their section proud with “Westside of the Bridge.”
Debuted via its official video, “Westside of the Bridge” is a new-age West Coast anthem tailored towards those with the same Compton upbringings as Lil L and JohnBoyKool. The video was directed by Andy Capper, and takes viewer to a local swap meet and its collaborators’ late-night haunts. Besides this drop, Lil L has also worked with fellow Compton native and Kendrick Lamar associate Hitta J3 for another new video in support of their joint record “All Day.”
