Watch a Young LeBron James Get His "Chosen 1" Tattoo in New Nike Ad
On the eve of the 2018 NBA Finals.
On the eve of the 2018 NBA Finals, which will see the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors battle each other for the fourth consecutive time, Nike released a new ad highlighting its star player, LeBron James.
In the short clip above, which takes place in Las Vegas of 2002, a young man walks into a tattoo shop and then asks an artist for a tattoo handing him a piece of paper. At first the tattoo artist questions his choice but eventually agrees to do it. As the camera pans up, the ad reveals a young LeBron James sporting his St. Vincent-St. Mary’s hoodie. The final shot zooms in on the paper featuring the design, “Chosen 1,” as the screen goes black with the tagline, “Always Believe.”
James has been with the Swoosh since 2003. Golden State has won two of the last three NBA Finals matchups, 2017 and 2015, while the Cavs stunned the Warriors by coming back from a 3-games-to-1 deficit to win the best-of-seven series in 2016. Who will take the title this year? Let us know in the comments below.
