Kendrick Lamar's 'Black Panther' Soundtrack Goes Platinum
Kung Fu Kenny with the Midas touch.

After reaching double-platinum status in just three months with DAMN. last July, it now appears Kendrick Lamar has done it again – this time for his executive producer role on the soundtrack of Black Panther. Released on February 9, it wasn’t long before Black Panther: The Album took off – after making its debut, the soundtrack would reach the No. 1 on the Billboard 200 less than a week later. The project itself had an all-star lineup of features that included James Blake, Future, Travis Scott, Anderson .Paak and Kendrick Lamar himself amongst many others. Meanwhile, the Recording Industry Association of America has officially presented the platinum certification for Black Panther: The Album as of today.
TDE Producer Sounwave celebrated the achievement on his Instagram by posting platinum plaque with a graciously thankful caption that read “#blackpanther.. more blessings #TDE.” Stream the Black Panther soundtrack now on HYPEBEAST if you haven’t already.
