UPDATE: The source video has been taken down.
It’s (probably) not often that the worlds of daytime TV and HYPEBEAST collide, but that’s exactly what happened on a recent episode of Judge Judy as the famed judge settled a dispute regarding Virgil Abloh‘s coveted Air Jordan 1 collaboration.
While the plaintiff intended to purchase 14 pairs of the collaborative kicks for $8,800 USD (a fishy number considering the resell value of the shoe), she reported that the box she received — which was supposed to contain the kicks — was completely empty save for a bunch of tissue paper. Meanwhile, the seller argued that he only received $6,500 USD of the agreed-upon $8,800 USD and even reported buying his shoes wholesale from “Flight Kicks” — a source that’s apparently completely nonexistent. The plaintiff even supplies a pair of Pharrell x adidas Originals Hu NMD Trail “Powder Dye Pack” as a weight comparison exhibit.
Watch Judge Judy lay down the hammer (er, gavel) above.
Meanwhile, if you’re still looking to cop Abloh’s AJ1s for yourself, GOAT is giving away all three colorways.
