Thanks to Louis Vuitton‘s Instagram Story, we have a look at designer du jour Virgil Abloh settling in to his new position at the storied fashion house. On his very first day on the job, Abloh settles in to his monogram-emblazoned office, begins work explaining his design impetus, and gathers the team around a selection of product imagery (blurred out, of course). “The biggest goal … is to start so people can understand the new vocabulary.” the designer notes. “I wanna introduce a hardware that’s native to the garment.”
Whether the clothing will incorporate the same functionality as the trunks and bags remains to be seen, but if anything, it’s clear that Abloh hasn’t lost the traits that made Off-White™ so popular — note the “Outerwear” sign.
