Iceland's Posh Blue Lagoon Spa Finally Opens Stunning Luxury Hotel

Iceland’s Blue Lagoon is a go-to relaxation destination for several A-list celebrities, including the likes of Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber. Just 30 minutes away from Reykjavik, the spa offers a special sense of isolation and freedom from life’s hustle and bustle. To capitalize on this sense of detached ease, Blue Lagoon has finally opened its luxury hotel, one year after breaking ground on top of a lava flow.
Dubbed The Retreat, this new hotel space offers plenty of amenities to well-off travelers. Along with floor-to-ceiling windows — all the better to stare out at the jaw-dropping view — each of the 62 suites offers guests private terraces, a full-service restaurant, entry to the Retreat Spa and even private access to the lagoon via three of the hotel’s premium suites. Complementary yoga classes and guided hikes allow for the complete Icelandic experience.
