Red Bull Brought Skateboarding to Its Purest Form With “This is Live X Drop In”

Back on April 20, Red Bull rounded up some of the world’s best skate talent in an RV for a ten-day cross-country excursion. Though in a stop on this tour, the sports energy drink giant brought a unique experience to fans with its “This is Live X Drop In” broadcast on April 25.
In a progressive approach that eschewed contest motifs, Red Bull brought skateboarding back to its purest form. Staged in Dallas at the Action Alliance Park, viewers got a unique perspective into a skate session featuring the likes of Torey Pudwill, Zion Wright, Jamie Foy and Alex Midler. Without the pressure of judges and scoring, these top athletes got to test out their best tricks — all while skate icons Chris Cote and Chris Pastras provided commentary. There was even a special appearance by Ryan Sheckler.
