A Villainous James Franco Stars in New Sci-Fi Thriller 'Kin'
Alongside Zoë Kravitz.
After his dead on impersonation of Tommy Wiseau in A24’s hit The Disaster Artist last year, James Franco is set to take on a more villainous role for the upcoming sci-fi flick, Kin.
Released earlier today, the first trailer for Kin centers around a recently released ex-con (Jack Reynor) and his adopted young brother (Myles Truitt) who are forced to go on the run after being targeted by a malevolent criminal (James Franco) and federal agents. Truitt’s Eli then comes across a mysterious weapon, once owned by otherworldly criminals, that manifests mystical powers, soon becoming the sole protection for the brothers.
The film marks the directorial debut of brothers Jonathan and Josh Baker with Stranger Things producers Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen serving as producers of the project. Kin, which also stars Dennis Quaid as the brothers’ father and Zoë Kravitz as a trusted ally, hits theaters August 31. Watch the trailer above.
