Kendrick Lamar's 'DAMN.' Scores Strongest Sales Week & Debut of 2017
A new personal record for Kung Fu Kenny.
Kendrick Lamar just scored yet another sizable victory. With his 2011 project Section.80 finally earning a gold plaque earlier this month, Lamar’s DAMN. has just racked up the strongest sales week of 2017. As Billboard reports, the Compton rapper’s latest studio album is now projected to sell between 530,000 and 550,000 equivalent album units. By comparison, Drake’s latest major release, More Life, debuted with 505,000 units sold in its first week of sales. Once the totals are cemented, DAMN. will also end up giving Lamar his best sales week yet. While Drake’s More Life was expected to hold this crown, it now looks like Kendrick Lamar will hold the title for the time being.
