Snow Peak Introduces Sustainably-Sourced "LOCAL WEAR" Collection
Traditional Japanese clothing remade for the modern age.
Having recently introduced its Spring/Summer 2018 collection, Japanese outdoor label Snow Peak unveils its latest undertaking. Dubbed “LOCAL WEAR,” the range centers around remastered Japanese heritagewear, crafted by local artisans.
LOCAL WEAR encompasses a range of traditional clothing, including jiban and hanten jackets, patti workpants and a host of patched work shirts. Available in raw and washed indigo, several items are accented with dots. Snow Peak works with Niigata-based craftspeople to create the line, which benefits small factories and dye facilities. The brand will also organize tours for enthusiasts curious about the process that goes into making the line.
