Smino's Night Gets Hectic in "Wild Irish Roses" Video
Directed by Jean Deaux.
Smino drops the video for “Wild Irish Roses,” the intro track to his debut studio album, blkswn, which dropped last year. The video was directed by Jean Deaux and it was filmed at Bob’s Market, a local bodega that became immortalized on screen in The Fast and the Furious as Toretto’s Market & Café. Jean Deaux previously revealed they shot at Bob’s Market in a tweet.
“The cool shit about it is, we shot it at Bob’s Market,” Smino told Complex of the shoot. “They did Fast & Furious there, the n***a Paul Walker walked in and grabbed some shit in the movie. But yeah, it’s a legendary lil spot. Probably the most memorable shit in the video was watching my homeboys, Fin and Dave Coresh just go crazy in their roles in the acting scenes. I knew they’d bring the best out of it, them n***as are some fuckin’ fools.”
The 18-song blkswn project featured hit singles such as “Anita” and “Netflix & Dusse.” Next month, Smino will head out on the Kouple Drillz Tour with producer Monte Booker as they travel to South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia.
