Smartphone Users Are Increasingly Spending More Money per Retail Website Visit
Mobile sales predicted to reach $12 billion USD by 2021.
With online sales figures continuing to spike upwards over the past few years, money spent via smartphones, in particular, surprisingly makes up a large chunk of that number — outpacing, both, desktop and tablet growth. According to a report by Recode, Adobe has calculated a 27 percent uptick in the amount of money individuals spend per visit to online retailers, while the duration of such visits has decreased by 10 percent. These staggering figures are based on the findings of a trillion visits to more than 5,000 websites from a sample timeline taken from January 2015 to December 2017.
Thanks largely to retailers further optimizing their sites, coupled with stronger cellular connections, shopping online has never been easier. With that said, Adobe has gone ahead and predicted that mobile sales will hover around the $12 billion USD a year mark by the time 2021 rolls around.
