Kobe Bryant Wins Oscar for His Animated Short Film, 'Dear Basketball'
Five-time NBA champ and Oscar winner.

Along with being a five-time NBA champ, Kobe Bryant‘s legacy continues to grow after winning an Oscar at the 90th Academy Awards. The former NBA shooting guard’s Dear Basketball beat out Garden Party, Lou, Negative Space and Revolting Rhymes for Best Animated Short Film.
Bryant served as executive producer on the animated short, which chronicles his basketball career starting from his dreams as a child to his legendary time with the Los Angeles Lakers. Additionally, Glen Keane, the animator who turned the poem Bryant wrote for The Players’ Tribune in 2015 into Dear Basketball, also took home an award. Following the win the Laker’s great will continue his work in entertainment, writing, producing and hosting a new basketball show for ESPN.
