Tommy Hilfiger Hits the Racetrack for Sporty Spring 2018 Collection

Following up on the Formula One gear recently debuted by Tommy Jeans, Tommy Hilfiger showcased more raceway-ready items as part of his mainline Spring 2018 lineup. The collection focused on athletic-leaning clothing, with plenty of patterns influenced by the checkered flag and branding that takes cues from race cars.
A host of headline-grabbing models walked the runway, including “hot felon” Jeremy Meeks and the Hadid sisters, with Gigi introducing the final iteration of her collaborative clothing line with Hilfiger. The range’s racing inspiration was made clear by jumpsuits and color-blocked leather jackets — foreshadowing Hilfiger’s upcoming collaboration with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport — with Hilfiger’s signature red, white and blue shades informing outerwear, shorts and base layers. Striped shirting was key, with variations appearing underneath sweaters and overshirts; similar patterns were executed on large vests and hoodies. Further visual detailing included patches lifted from racing uniform branding, which appeared on bomber jackets and quarter-zip shirts. A full range of accessories included ball caps, striped tennis sneakers and extra-long striped belts.
