ALYX x Mackintosh & Nine More Key European Drops

With the biggest drop of the last week being the first installment of Supreme’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection, the upcoming week also features a range of high profile capsules. One of the key collaborations sees Matthew Williams ALYX label link up with Scottish outerwear brand Mackintosh, while adidas and kolor continue their joint releases and Le Coq Sportif teams up with Tel Aviv’s Sneakerbox TLV for a hummus-themed release.

Other strong releases include the Spring/Summer 2018 collection from Blondey McCoy‘s Thames label, as well as new pieces from Amsterdam’s Daily Paper. French sportwear label Le Coq Sportif has recruited Tel Aviv-based sneaker retailer for its latest collaboration to celebrate the store’s seventh anniversary. The resulting collaboration sees a new take on the R800 silhouette, with a hummus-inspired sneaker. The theme is apparent in the beige nubuck and linen accents, while there is green and burgundy detailing to reference parsley and paprika. For its Spring/Summer 2018 collection, British label Universal Works took inspiration from both summers in Cornwall and traditional African prints. This release sees the brand rework some of its staple silhouettes — including its signature baker jackets and double pleated trousers — for the warmer months, while it predominantly comes in a color palette of blue, pink and beige tones. The latest joint capsule features the AlphaBOUNCE and adiZero Prime BOOST silhouettes, with bold colors such as neon orange, teal and pops of yellow featuring across the two sneakers. For Spring/Summer 2018, Danish label RAINS has added a new camouflage line named “Sea Camo.” The new pattern is used on an array of typical RAINS silhouettes including the Camp Anorak and the Mackintosh Coach Jacket, as well as more understated pieces in tones including green and brown. Swedish footwear (and now denim) label Eytys released its chunky and oversized Angel silhouette last August, with the sneaker quickly becoming a cult favorite. The brand has now returned to the shoe for a new canvas version, with the leather and suede of previous uppers replaced. The Angel Canvas comes in two colorways, with one in black with contrasting cream rubber sole and the other coming in undyed, natural “Ecru,” complete with tonal soles. Building on their Resort 2017 collaboration, ALYX and Scottish heritage label Mackintosh have continued working together for Spring/Summer 2018. The new collection is all handmade in Mackintosh’s British factories and features the brand’s rubberized fabric, which has been given a range of experimental treatments. The unisex collection — which also features dry bags and mini rollercoaster belts — is available now from the Mackintosh web store, and will arrive at other stockists on February 20.

Balenciaga has expanded the offering of its already iconic Triple S sneaker, with a range of new colorways being revealed recently. These new releases include a black, white and red version as well as a more-colorful version in blue, gray and black with yellow and red pops of color. Amsterdam-based Daily Paper explores the concepts of travel and ”transcending expectations” with its latest collection. The Spring/Summer 2018 release features graphics and patterns inspired by African tribes and passport stamp graphics. Some of the key pieces include bold outerwear including bright puffa jackets and contrasting denim jackets, as well as track pants and athletic tops. The collection is set to drop at the Daily Paper web store on February 23.
