Vans Collaborates With Five Influential Retailers for "5x5 Project"
An exclusive look at offerings from Notre, Slam Jam, Bows and Arrows, Vier and WORKSOUT.
Vans decks the halls with a series of exclusive collaborations, courtesy of five influential Vans Vault retailers. Notre, Slam Jam, Bows and Arrows, Vier and WORKSOUT deliver distinctive takes on classic Vans models, each utilizing distinctive inspirations for their offerings.
Bows and Arrows serves up an eye-catching Sk8-Hi, contrasting red, blue and yellow Jazz Stripes against a black leather upper to showcase influence from motorsports. Notre tackles the Old Skool, blending grey and green suede with a Sidestripe reformed into a handshake illustration. Teased earlier this week, Slam Jam’s Era LX hearkens back to the ’80s with a retro black, white and red colorway, complete with sidewall branding reminiscent of hand drawn doodles.
Rounding out the pack, Antwerp’s Vier juxtaposes tiger stripes and Vans’ classic palm tree print across the Slip-On LX, drawing from Vier’s playful in-store displays. Finally, Korea’s WORKSOUT takes unconventional inspiration to the extreme, with zinc and mesh from the brand’s flagship yielding zinc-toned shoelaces and a mesh-printed upper, complete with head-turning reflective detailing.
The individual sneakers arrive at each store on December 15.
Elsewhere, mastermind JAPAN revamped the Sk8-Hi with an all-over logo print.
