Doublet SS19 Is an Explosion of '80s Euphoria
Day-glo colors, baggy mom jeans and repurposed swimwear.

Doublet continues reveling in playful deconstruction with its Spring/Summer 2019 offering. This time, the Japanese label’s signature techniques — inverted suiting, baggy silk denim jeans, chaos embroidery — are informed by a heavy ’80s influence.
Bold hues inform the range, exemplified by bright yellow shirts, striking blue swimshorts and pinstriped navy suits, each emblazoned with a parodic logo or Doublet’s signature dangling fringe. The nods to retro style include more casual swimwear and plenty of purloined sportswear, including polos and deconstructed cardigans bolstered by faux Lacoste and Penguin branding. Flip flops, Hawaiian shirts, patchworked sporty socks and Katherine Hamnett-style slogan shirts underline the throwback athletic influence.
The full collection hits stockists like SSENSE early next year. However, thanks to Antonioli, select styles from the upcoming collection are already available to pre-order.
