Nicolas Jaar Reveals Twisting New Jam "Coin In Nine Hands"
Cut from the extended edition of “Sirens.”
With his politically-charged 2016 record Sirens having made waves in the electronic music world and winning the Chilean-American artist new fans across board, Nicolas Jaar has now returned with a new track from the album’s deluxe edition.
Clocking in at around the eight-minute mark, “Coin In Nine Hands” is propelled along by a urgent-yet-distant sense of bass accompanied by fractured spoken word. Jaar then pulls a full 180, with the track moving through Jaar’s signature electronic flourishes — accented this time with hints of post-industrial sound — before settling down in atmospheric ambience.
Listen to “Coin In Nine Hands” via the video above and be sure to check out the extended edition of Sirens – released Friday 8 December — when it drops. In the meantime, for more new music, here’s the latest sun-drenched jam from Sunni Colón.
