Ubisoft Reveals the Post-Apocalyptic Trailer for 'Far Cry: New Dawn'
A direct sequel to ‘Far Cry 5.’
Ubisoft officially announced Far Cry: New Dawn at The Game Awards, offering a post-apocalyptic sequel to Far Cry 5 17 years later following the fallout of a nuclear explosion.
The trailer above showcases the setting of Hope Country in the aftermath of the fallout, and features players with improvised weapons, scavenged gear, but with campy colors and a quirk similar to Fortnite. The story follows the result of the “good” ending Far Cry 5 presents after villain Joseph Seed detonating a nuke and destroying the county. Although Ubisoft has made follow-up spin-ff titles of previous installments like Far Cry: Blood Dragon, this will be the first direct sequel to a main Far Cry game.
It looks to be a more lighthearted version of Rage 2, while also being a new competitor towards Bethesda’s recently released Fallout 76. New Dawn is slated to debut February 15 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for $39.99 USD.
Meanwhile, check out this year’s Game of The Year.
