Despite the mixed reviews, the Detroit rapper continues to soar.

Eminem’s latest ninth studio album has had its fair share of mixed reviews but be that as it may, the “Walk On Water” emcee’s latest effort has also become one of the most popular albums of December according to Billboard. Based off the numbers, Em’s Revival album soared last week not only earning him the most popular album in the week ending on December 21 but also making him the first artist in history ever to earn eight consecutive #1 debuts on the Billboard 200 albums chart. As it stands, Revival sits on top of the charts for the week ending on December 21 with 267,000 equivalent album units earned, 197,000 of those album units being traditional album sales.
Eminem’s last seven releases from 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP to 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 all debuted at #1. The the only album of his that didn’t debut at #1 was his first album, The Slim Shady LP which peaked at #2.
