Along with the exclusive merch, which included goods from Virgil Abloh and Denim Tears, Social Studies New York 2018 boasted a variety of special events, coordinated with the aim of inspiring the next generation of creators. Guests were granted the opportunity to listen to chats featuring members of Some Ware, Online Ceramics and AWAKE NY, participate in one-on-one mentorships with the likes of Tremaine Emory and Sonya Sombreuil of Come Tees, and even customize their own gear to take home. Levi’s, Timberland and The North Face all provided products for entrants to customize, resulting in bespoke goods branded with the logos of participating brands and hand-drawn slogans.
