Khalid, Rex Orange County & More Feature on BBC Sound of 2018 Longlist
With previous alumni including Frank Ocean and Stormzy.
After longlisting Anderson .Paak and AJ Tracey last year, the BBC has returned with the nominees for the Sound of 2018 award. The award has seen some of music’s biggest names appear on the longlist since it began in 2003, with artists including 50 Cent (2003), Frank Ocean (2012) and Stormzy (2015) all nominated in the past.
Some of the hotly-tipped names on this year’s 16-strong roster include Khalid, London MC Not3s and singer Nilüfer Yanya, as well as Tyler, The Creator collaborator Rex Orange County. The 2018 longlist also features Billie Eilish, with the L.A.-based singer becoming the youngest ever nominee at just 15.
