In a collection that pays homage to an artist that epitomized the ’80s New York art scene, New Era drops headwear bearing the iconic work of Jean-Michel Basquiat, including iconography referencing NYC as well as the MLB and NBA.
Printing on a selection of the imprint’s knitted beanies, 9FIFTY caps and 5-panels, the capsule incorporates motifs that defined the creative’s prowess alongside inspiration from his Tuxedo and Empire artworks. The set is swathed in embroidered and graphically-printed allusions to Basquiat’s cryptic drawings as well as select team logos.
