Gucci's FW18 Eyewear Collection Embraces Freedom and Youth in Photo Series
Bringing it back to the old school.
Gucci’s new eyewear collection merges contemporary design with references from decades past. The collection’s mixed themes span from vintage allure to modern romanticism. The Fall/Winter 2018 season alternates classic silhouettes with eccentric and unconventional proportions and lens colors, featuring hand-applied Swarovski crystals on wide, square glasses, interlocking G’s on the temples, and ’80s style geometric designs.
In the optical collection, ’50s-inspired masculine shapes pay homage to the City Boy look, combining metal and acetate in streamlined frames marked by flexible cylindrical temples. Retro oversized shapes are also given a nod, constructed with lightweight metal and integrating pastel toned-lenses with vivid chrome effects.
