Danny Brown releases the documentary Danny Brown: Live at the Majestic. A year later, the Detriot native makes the documentary exclusively available for purchase on Brown’s website as a stream and digital download.
Live at the Majestic centers around Brown’s hometown 2016 performance at Detroit’s Majestic Theater and details the making of his fantastic 2016 album Atrocity Exhibition. the doc gives an inside look around Danny Brown’s come-up story while also profiling three of his fans.
Last November, Brown informed his fans that the film was “not coming out” and apologized in a series of emotional tweets. “Crying right now because of it … really hurt about the whole situation,” he tweeted. There was never any clear explanation why the documentary was shelved by either of the party. Brown acquired the film’s distribution rights from Apple in order to self-release the project, Spin reports.
