Designed by Peter Marino, Chanel‘s iconic 57th Street flagship has received an opulent makeover deserving of one of Earth’s most powerful brands. First opened in 1996, this store is the luxury house’s largest American outpost.
A 60-foot-tall Jean-Michel Othoniel bead sculpture is the centerpiece of the 14,000 square-foot structure, which houses distinct rooms that each offer a multitude of Chanel goods, including apparel, eyewear makeup, shoes and bags. The disparate rooms boast unique furniture set-ups, ranging from gilded corner tables to dual tweed chairs evocative of one of the house’s signature textiles. At its peak, the fifth floor is reserved for the most prized clients, with cozy rooms designed to allow for an intimate, private shopping experience.
