A drug- and sex-filled drama.
American filmmaker and photographer Larry Clark has written and directed a new movie, Marfa Girl 2, whose first official trailer has been released. The provocative film stars returning actors Adam Mediano, Drake Burnette and Mercedes Maxwell in a drug- and sex-filled drama that champions Clark’s signature themes of youth culture and addiction prevalent in his previous artworks and films such as Kids.
Though Clark’s tried-and-true elements remain intact, Marfa Girl 2 breaks new ground as the indie filmmaker’s first sequel ever and first foray into anything franchise-related. Clark originally planned to release Marfa Girl 2 via streaming access on his own website to maintain his independence from conventional Hollywood distribution, but eventually sold the film’s North American rights to indie film distributor Breaking Glass Pictures.
Marfa Girl 2 will premiere on November 2 in New York at the Cinema Village and in Los Angeles at Laemmle Glendale. Watch the official trailer above and share your thoughts in the comments.
