Offset Apologizes for Homophobic "Boss Life" Lyric
“I’m offended I offended anybody.”
December’s “Boss Life,” a joint effort between Offset and YFN Lucci, raised a few eyebrows because of one particularly incendiary lyric. Today, Offset took to Instagram to issue an apology.
The song’s new music video reignited criticism over this line: “Pinky ring crystal clear, 40k spent on a private Lear/60k solitaire/I cannot vibe with queers.” In response to the furor, Offset posted a photo of the definition of the word ‘queer’ and stated that the lyric refers to the other meaning. In the Instagram post, the Migos member writes, “I have said before since these issues before that I got love for all people. My passion for fashion has lead me to a lot of gay people around me who I have mad respect for and we are very cool so I’m not in a place where I’m hating like that. … I M S O R R Y
