Nike Officially Presents Paul George's Second Sneaker, the PG2
Nike’s PG series kicks off round two.
Nike and Paul George are back to unveil the sequel to PG’s first signature sneaker. Designed by Tony Hardman, its presentation keeps things simple by removing the midfoot strap seen on the Nike PG1. In addition, the model incorporates “dynamic wings” at the forefoot to provide the same lockdown as the aforementioned strap would. Nike’s PG2 also moves away from its bootie construction for a more traditional look. The Zoom Air unit has also been increased to 10 millimeters for heightened response and propulsion. Finally, traction is improved via the sole unit’s outrigger and overall dynamic pattern.
The inaugural colorway of Nike’s PG2 will welcome special design cues placing emphasis on George’s love for gaming. Remaining faithful to Sony’s PlayStation systems, the PG2 incorporates a light up tongue, speckled midsole, starry insole graphic and subtle button graphics. Nike worked alongside the PlayStation team on the colorway’s detailing in addition to the aforementioned starry graphic that’ll be available for your personal PS4 thanks to a code that comes with the sneaker.
Paul George will debut the Nike PG2 tonight as the Oklahoma City Thunder face off against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Nike PG2 “PS2” will officially release at select Nike Basketball retailers on February 10.
