"Trump's People Never Even Asked" Kanye to Perform at the Inauguration
But the Donald “is a great admirer of Kanye.”
This coming Friday marks the presidential inauguration for Donald Trump and according to PEOPLE, Kanye West will not be attending. In fact, an unnamed source told the publication that “Trump’s people never even asked” the rapper to perform at the forthcoming ceremony which will be held at the United States Capitol. For better or worse, however, “Donald is a great admirer of Kanye,” professed inaugural committee chairman, Thomas Barrack Jr.
It was only this past December when ‘Ye and the president-elect met at the Trump Tower in NYC “to discuss multicultural issues.” Moreover, the Donald himself told media affiliates post-meeting that he and Yeezy have “been friends for a long time.” Cue: Kanye’s ”Real Friends” track from The Life of Pablo.
The inaugural committee also recently unveiled a list of country artists including Toby Keith, Lee Greenwood as well as Mississippi rock band 3 Doors Down to showcase their musical talents at the pre-inauguration concert this January 19 — just after a slew of renowned musicians such as Elton John, Celine Dion, and KISS rejected the committee’s proposal to take the stage. Yet, YG’s request to perform “FDT (F**k Donald Trump)” for $4 million USD at the event is presumably still pending.
