Apple’s HomePod Speaker Now Available to Pre-Order
After some delay.
Apple‘s HomePod smart speaker is now available to pre-order through Apple Store. At $349 USD, the speaker is slated to start on February 9. HomePod, which comes in black or white, is powered by Apple’s A8 chip, which first appeared in the iPhone 6, and features built-in Siri, six microphones, HomeKit support and sound optimization.
Although the speaker’s launch was delayed, HomePod will not have features like AirPlay 2. Apple says that those features are coming later this year in a free software update. The HomePod is available for pre-order now in the U.S., UK and Australia. It will be available in France and Germany this spring.
