50 Cent Says Eminem Scrapped 'Relapse 2' Due to Critics
“We had a whole other album when he did ‘Relapse.’”
In a recent interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood alongside Den of Thieves costars O’Shea Jackson and Pablo Schreiber, 50 Cent revealed that Eminem had plans for a Relapse 2 record but ditched the plans entirely due to fan and critic reactions. During the interview (around the 30:54 mark) 50 stated, “Being criticized about the music actually effects him. We had a whole other album when he did Relapse. He didn’t like the response so he didn’t even put out the whole Relapse 2. So it’s like, if he doesn’t like the response, he can change it.”
50 goes on to express disappointment in the younger generation’s tendency to brush off the legends, stating “I never heard a new R&B singer come out and say Prince wasn’t hot. The new guys should pay homage to Em. He’s a big part of why we grew as fast as we grew.”
Though Relapse 2 has been scrapped for now, perhaps it may make the light of day in the near future. Watch the interview above. In other music news, Drake just drop two new singles, “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity.”
