HBO's First 'Paterno' Trailer Showcases Al Pacino's Chilling Portrayal
“Dad, did you know about Jerry?”
The lead trailer for HBO‘s forthcoming movie about infamous, disgraced college football coach and one-time fan-favorite Joe Paterno has emerged.
The beginning of the new Paterno teaser begins with chaos — tears are shed, cameras flash, riots are going down, and the media swarms in. As the teaser unfolds, the grim subject matter of Paterno hits the forefront: convicted child molester and sexual predator Jerry Sandusky enters the elevator with a child, while a defeated, shaken Joe Paterno — played by Al Pacino — looks as if he just lived through trauma on the battlefield. “Dad, did you know about Jerry?” inquires an off-screen son. Altogether, it looks like HBO is putting together a pretty dark presentation with Paterno.
You can watch the new trailer for HBO Films’ and director Barry Levinson’s Paterno above, while the film itself is expected to arrive this spring. Besides Al Pacino, the movie also stars Riley Keough, Debora Cahn, David McKenna and John C. Richards.
