Ken Block Tackles Pikes Peak in the Hoonicorn V2 for 'Climbkhana'
1,400 horsepower vs. 14,115 feet of elevation.
After shredding the desert of Swing Arm City in his Ford Fiesta RX43 for Terrakhana, rally legend Ken Block’s renowned Gymkhana-style videos make a welcome return today with the debut of the highly anticipated Climbkhana. Casting the aforementioned Fiesta aside, Block has a different weapon in mind this time around: the so-called Hoonicorn V2, which couples twin turbochargers to the naturally aspirated 6.7-liter V8 of the original Hoonicorn. The result is a 1965 Ford Mustang that pumps out 1,400 horsepower — compared to the 865 of its turbo-less predecessor — and the perfect vehicle for tackling Pikes Peak’s 14,115 feet of elevation on the 12.42 mile hill climb.
Catch all nine minutes of automotive goodness above as Block squares off against obstacles galore and deftly navigates some of the most dangerous cliffside switchbacks on earth.
