Famed artist and designer Eric Haze has once again been called upon by Casio for a watch collaboration. Celebrating its 35th anniversary, Casio G-SHOCK and Haze come together for the seventh time on a special edition GA700EH-1A watch. The timepiece features Haze’s signature star on the tip of one band while 2017 is printed on the opposite band loop. Haze’s logo is engraved on the face and back of the case while a brushstroke-inspired black and white color scheme harkens to the artist’s famed color palette.
“This most recent design represents a style of brush painting I have been developing seriously over the last five years. The beauty of the relationship Casio and I have developed for over 20 years now, is that they trust and allow me to follow a new direction for every project, which keeps the work fresh for both myself and the audience,” Haze said.
Additional features on the GA700EH-1A include a super illuminator LED light, bold 3D black and white hands, a five-year battery, 200M of water resistance and shock resistance. The 53.4mm case houses world time covering 31 times zones (48 cities +UTC), four daily alarms and a snooze alarm, 1/100th second stopwatch, 1/10th countdown timer, 12 and 24 hour formats and a hand retract function.
This special edition timepiece will retail for $140 USD on October 1 and will be available at G-SHOCK retailers, gshock.com and the G-SHOCK SoHo store. Previously Haze worked on models for G-SHOCK’s 25th and 30th anniversaries and has dropped limited edition DW6900, G304, DW5600, GA100 and GA110 models.
