Photos of the Wildest Art Installations at Burning Man Festival 2017

Mutant vehicles, robot chickens, and more surreal artwork.

Burning Man festival 2017 launched this past weekend, attracting over 70,000 visitors from all across the globe. The week-long gathering takes place at the Black Rock Desert in Nevada and it’s jam-packed with over 130 musical performances, outlandish costumes, celebrity sightings, and of course, insane art installations.

This year, showrunners commissioned artists to create large-scale pieces inspired by the theme, “Radical Ritual.” From fire-breathing dragon cars, to a robotic female Buddha, a total of 320 structures were erected at the dusty, temporary city.

Peruse the gallery above and head over to Burning Man’s official website to learn more about the annual festival which caps off this September 4.
