Apple Switches From Bing to Google for Siri & Spotlight Searches
“Bing it” no more.

Apple has finally opted to make Google the default search engine for Siri‘s web search in iOS and Mac‘s Spotlight instead of Bing. The switch has already begun to roll out to iPhone and Mac users, and should be completed this afternoon.
“Switching to Google as the web search provider for Siri, Search within iOS, and Spotlight on Mac will allow these services to have a consistent web search experience with the default in Safari,” Apple told TechCrunch in a statement. However, Apple will continue to use Bing as a default for image results on both features, with YouTube handling video searches. Searches and results are all encrypted and anonymized and cannot be attributed to any individual user. Google will also become the default search engine for the iOS search bar as well.
