This Original Roofless Ford GT40 Roadster Prototype Is up for Sale
Only one in existence.
One of the rarest Ford GT40 Roadster prototypes in existence recently reared its head and is now listed for sale. Originally developed in 1960 to beat Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans sports car race, the prototype up for sale — currently in th hands of London dealer Girardo & Co. — is extremely special as it is the only model that was developed intentionally without a roof. Lauded as the rarest GT40, the GT/108 was the first of 12 prototypes produced and is the only model kept in its original condition. With all other prototypes either destroyed or modified, the original roofless Ford GT40 Roadster prototype listed on Classic Driver now is sure to fetch an impressive price.
