Earlier this year, we saw FRONTEER release a handful of different boots and caps inspired by the natural beauty of Yosemite Valley. Staying true to the nature theme this time around, the footwear maker has teamed up with outdoor lifestyle brand MANASTASH to create a new silhouette called the Aqua Solo. The new model’s look is inspired by the shoes normally worn for deep water soloing, a form of rock climbing while using a body of water as a protective base.
The first of the two colorways coming out is dubbed the “Hasu” set, which is Japanese for Lily Pad. The model sees a red strap over top the shoe’s brown body, with hits of blue finding their way onto the ends of the straps and the shoe’s tongue. The second colorway, dubbed “Nisshoku” (Japanese for Eclipse), sees more neutral tones throughout the body, with black used for the majority of the shoe’s upper, grey used for the sneaker’s tongue and white used for both FRONTEER and MANASTASH’s branding along the straps.
Both colorways of the MANASTASH x FRONTEER Aqua Solo will be available on September 1 for $150 USD from FRONTEER’s web store and select retailers such as KITH and Hatchet Supply.
