Esteemed and undeniably eccentric, Italian fashion house Gucci has released the video for its 2017 fall/winter season and, as we’ve come to expect from the brand y now, the whole thing is a little weird — but weird in a good way. Taking inspiration from Star Trek, the video is  resolutely leftfield — continuing in the same vein Alessandro Michele has set as the brand’s new default — featuring a crew of Gucci-clad models entering via Trek-like Spacecraft while a ’70s blaxploitation-esque funk soundtrack plays in the background. If you were thinking that the weirdness topped out at the opening, things get quirkier still as the film continues, with giant cats, dinosaur fighting, and a plethora of monsters and aliens, all draped in the Italian label. Watch the video above to see it for yourself.

The video follows on from Gucci’s previous, slightly more straight forward, drop — a travel-inspired release called Gucci Places.
