Virgil Abloh Reveals Princess Diana as the Muse for Off-White™ Spring/Summer 2018
One woman, 40 looks.

As we approach the precise two-decade mark since Princess Diana’s tragic death in Paris back in 1997, it’s perhaps no surprise that we’re seeing a whole run of new books, new documentaries and new articles appearing – in amongst it all, though, it’s safe to say that no one was particularly expecting to hear from Virgil Abloh. But, taking to Instagram last night, the Off-White™ designer posted a shot of the moodboard for the brand’s upcoming Spring 2018 collection — featuring nothing but shots of Princess Di.
Captioned with the phrase “one woman, 40 Off-White looks in the works come September,” the post — which features Di in a range of iconic outfits, taking in everything from green bomber jackets to Harvard sweaters and oversized lace collars — it might not be the obvious choice for a designer known for his work with Kanye West and fashion frontrunners like Heron Preston, but it’s pretty clear that the Off-White™ team has plenty to work with for the coming season.
Peep the moodboard in the image above and see if you can work out exactly what Virgil have planned for spring. And, while you’re waiting, why not take a closer look at the upcoming (and painfully limited) Off-White™ x Nike Air Presto.
