Nike Basketball isn’t only active during the NBA Season. The Swoosh embraces basketball culture outside of professional leagues, especially during the summer offseason. As the Hyperdunk 2017 continues to be revealed in numerous colorways, the model will usher in an interesting selection gaining inspiration from basketball’s global capitals of New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Manila, Beijing and Madrid. The forthcoming HyperFam Collection kicks things off with its New York theme hosting a blueprint styled city map across its upper using basketball lines. Next up is the previously teased Los Angeles pair which has special nods to the city’s beautiful scenery and highly competitive Drew League. Chicago’s design highlights the importance of taking advantage of all opportunities with the calling FINAO (Failure Is Not An Option). This phrase honors the late Saieed Ivery, a Simeon High School graduate who unfortunately passed away in 2016.

Manila’s Tenement Court is next to receive praise thanks to the silhouettes’ cement-inspired upper. Cracking graphics make their way onto the model’s midsole while orange is found on its inner lining for the perfect contrast. Emerald coloring makes its way to the Beijing themed Hyperdunk 2017 Low as a nod of proving one’s worth while knowing when and where to show off. Grey coloring makes its way onto the Swoosh and its inner lining in addition to the speckles found on the midsole. Rounding out the HyperFam Collection is the Madrid inspired iteration which plays into the importance of the city’s sunset timing. This can be seen via its blue base and complementing orange and yellow color transitioning on its midsole.

Nike Basketball’s HyperFam Collection begins its rollout today and will continue until early August with specific launch dates listed on Nike’s official website.
