After coming out with a deconstructed version of the 997 model in grey earlier this month, New Balance is doubling down on the model by introducing a black version of the 997R. Made with premium suede on the outside and a neoprene on the inside, the sneaker looks to combine comfort with a low profile look. The black upper is contrasted with a white New Balance logo along the outside of the shoe. Sitting atop a white signature REVlite sole, the sneaker’s look is finished off with hits of grey in the heel area and on the pull tab, which also contains the “997R” branding.
With no official release date yet announced for the black version of the New Balance 997R, expect them to hit the shelves of New Balance retailers later this summer for about the same price as the grey colorway, which is going for $180 USD. In the meantime, be sure to take a look at the “Magnet” colorway of the New Balance 997.
