Kodasema Introduces the Koda House, Its Version of the Tiny Home, to the UK
Is this the answer to the UK’s housing crisis?
Estonian design collection Kodasema has unveiled its attempt to solve the UK’s housing crisis. The firm has produced tiny prefabricated homes, that take less than a day to build and are intended to be used in currently vacant sites. Named the “Koda House,” the buildings feature an open plan kitchen and bedroom, a mezzanine sleeping area, a small bathroom, and even a small terrace. The utilitarian design means that the houses look like concrete boxes, although one side is a full-length window and the roof is covered with solar panels.
A Koda house is set to cost £150,000 GBP ($194,000 USD), but that price also includes the cost of planning and building regulations, delivery, site preparation, installation, and connection to water and electricity. If you want to know more about these tiny homes, head to the Kodasema web site.
The buildings are also similar to MUJI’s popular minimalist huts, which are expected to go on sale later this year.
