Jordan Brand Honors Derek Jeter With Three More Additions to the "RE2PECT" Collection
Paying homage to the captain.
After unveiling a signature Air Jordan 1 Mid for former New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter last month, Jordan Brand is adding three more pieces to the ”RE2PECT” collection in honor of the captain’s 20-year career with the team. Making its way into the collection is an updated model of the Air Jordan 1 Mid silhouette. While rocking the same shade of dark blue as the previous model, the latest version features a matching color Swoosh along the side of the sneaker rather than matching it with the white that occupies the laces and tongue. The updated model also features a rubber gum outsole beneath the sneaker’s white midsole.
The second addition to the collection is a Jeter-inspired version of Jordan Brand’s newest model, the Jordan Lunar Grind. Featuring a textile upper and a malleable rubber sole, this colorway features two contrasting shades of blue. The sneaker also bears a cement-like pattern we’ve seen before on some of Jordan Brand’s older sneakers, as well as the Jumpman branding on the outside of the heel.
Rounding out the collection is the Jordan Hydro 6 slide, featuring a light gray insole contrasting with the same dark blue used on the other sneakers. The slide also features Jeter’s “RE2PECT” branding along the side of the strap as well as the Jumpman logo on the top.
All three new pieces of the Jordan Brand “RE2PECT” collection will be available on July 26 online and through select Jordan Brand retailers, with the Air Jordan 1 Mids going for $110 USD, the Lunar Grinds going for $125 USD and the Hydro 6 Slides going for $50 USD.
