Gary Oldman Stuns in 'Darkest Hour' With Oscar-Worthy Performance as Winston Churchill
The iconic actor stars as the British Prime Minister during World War II.
Gary Oldman undergoes a huge transformation for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour. The film follows the true events of World War II, as Churchhill must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation.
As Nazi forces roll across Western Europe with the threat of an invasion imminent, public unrest, a skeptical King, and his own party plotting against him, Churchill must withstand his darkest hour, rally a nation, and attempt to change the course of world history.
Darkest Hour stars Oldman, Ben Mendelsohn, and Kristin Scott Thomas with a release date of November 22.
