Despite announcing it was shutting all of its retail locations at the start of the year, American Apparel has been named one of the most popular brands in America. According to research done by thredUP, an online reselling platform that describes itself as “the largest online consignment and thrift store,” the Gildan-owned company has seen an increase in popularity since February this year. The research also revealed that the brand is particularly popular along either coast of the U.S., as well as states that voted Democrat in the most recent election.
As the changes continue around American Apparel, its new owners announced this year that a third of its production will be moved to Honduras and Nicaragua.
