Ahead of its public debut later this month, McLaren has unveiled its latest addition to the Sports Series: a Spider rendition of the 570S. Following the “Saros” edition of the 720S, the latest 570S is powered by a 570 PS 3.8-liter twin turbo V8 that’s coupled to a seven-speed gearbox, offering 442 lb-ft of torque and acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds before topping out at 204 mph. As for the integrated retractable hardtop, it can be raised and lowered in just 15 seconds and only adds 101 lbs to the vehicle’s weight. As far as additional details go, a glazed wind deflector can be activated at the push of a button while an optional sports exhaust system can be added to the mix to channel sound toward the cabin. Buyers can also add a bevy of carbon fiber applications to the available Curacao Blue, Vega Blue, and Sicilian Yellow colorways, not to mention 10-spoke 19/20” alloy wheels and Nappa- or Alcantara-decorated eight-way adjustable electric memory seats.
“The McLaren 570S Spider is the most attainable McLaren Spider to date and adds yet another dimension to the McLaren Sports Series family,” says McLaren CEO, Mike Flewitt.
Limited to just 400 models at launch, the 570S Spider will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 29 before dropping in August with prices starting at £164,750 GBP (approximately $210,650 USD).
