Marni Speaks to the Working Man With Spring/Summer 2018 Collection
Pinstripes dominate the latest capsule from the Italian designer.
Ever since taking over the lead design role from label founder Consuelo Castiglioni, Francesco Risso has done everything within his power to challenge the status quo and continues to do so in Marni‘s 2018 spring/summer collection. This time around, Risso creates his own renditions of traditional business wear, with loose-fitting suit jackets, pants and button-up shirts making up most of the collection. Risso contrasts these by pairing them with ties possessing a wide variety of patterns and colors, along with over-sized dress shoes. Speaking of patterns, Risso uses both horizontal and vertical stripes against each other on both the formal wear as well as some of Marni’s sportswear-inspired pieces.
