Levi's Skateboarding Channels 20th Century Workwear for Its 2017 Spring/Summer Collection
Inspired by San Francisco shipyard workers.
Levi’s Skateboarding has taken inspiration from the dock workers of its native San Francisco for the brand’s 2017 spring/summer drop. The 20th century shipyard workers wore garments that had to be both durable and adaptable so Levi’s Skateboarding has emphasized functionality and comfort for its latest collection. As well as looking back at the history of its hometown, Levi’s has also gone back into its archives to update key pieces for this drop. Despite the historic influence, the brand has also championed modern fabrics, with CORDURA being used for strength and LYCRA for stretch.
The new drop features some key everyday skate staples including long sleeve T-shirts, trucker jackets and Levi’s 511 slim jeans. Levi’s Skateboarding’s 2017 spring/summer collection is available now from the brand’s web store, with prices ranging from $29 USD for a short sleeve graphic T-shirt to $128 USD for a coach’s jacket.
